From a view of all available info on Serials, the Oberndorf-assembled DWM M1908 Brazilian Mauser Rifles ran a full serial number batch from "Aa" to at least "Uu" or even to "Zz"

THis was the delivery of 1912-1914 ( some did not make it to Brazil, and were sent to Austria, as they were using a Lot of 7mm Mausers (Steyr 1912s) as well).

Going on a Letter block number of 9999 ( or 10,000), and 26 letters ( or 25 in the German Alphabet to avoid confusions), that would mean a contract of 250-260,000 rifles ( or close enough to those round figures.) I have seen both complete rifles, stripped receivers, and stripped barrels over the years, with Double letter blocks as far as "Uu" Other collectors and observers have noted letter blocks after Uu.

So , between 1908 and 1914, Brazil should have received a total of close to 500,000 Long M1908 rifles, and a smaller quantity of Short Rifles ( probably 50,000?)
